The answer he received in the survey is an overwhelming majority of 57.5 percent in favor of the resignation, after months of public uproar, massive layoffs and resignations, censorship of journalists and a step seen as particularly defiant: the return to the virtual life of former US President Donald Trump, whose account was blocked in January 2021 after losing the last election .
Since Musk's purchase of Twitter last October, he has led a massive "stable cleaning" at the company that has included cuts and layoffs as well as new policies aimed at making the social network a beacon of free speech, he said.
