Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced tonight (Wednesday) that he will resign from the position, after finding a suitable replacement. the software and server teams in the company."
In a survey he conducted among Twitter users at the beginning of the week, Elon Musk asked if he should give up the social network's female CEOs. The results showed that out of the 17.5 million votes, 57.5% of the respondents wanted him to retire, while only 42.5% were against the idea.
It is not yet clear when Musk will do this, but this is not the first time he consults with users about the company's changes.
In the days leading up to the company's acquisition, Musk began brainstorming ideas: He considered bringing back Vine, Twitter's failed short video project and asking Twitter users if it was a good idea;
He planned to sell the verified one (the "blue V") for $8 a month to anyone who wanted it - something that would come to fruition.
In addition, after survey results that supported the idea, he brought back the Twitter account of former US President Donald Trump.
Much criticism has been leveled at Musk since he first presented his desire to acquire the social network.
After a legal battle, the businessman, who also owns Tesla, obtained control of Twitter in exchange for $44 billion.
