After the first drive in WEY's crossover which we did not long ago, this morning we also met him in Israel.
At a press conference held by Semlat, the importer of the brand to Israel, the coffee 01 was presented with its full local specifications and price.
But before that, a few words about the new company on the market.
WEY is the premium arm of the car giant Great Wall, which you may remember from the previous attempt to market its products in Israel by the Mizrah company, importer of Land Rover and Jaguar, which did not go well.
The brand itself, which was launched in 2018, is already active in Europe, and the Kopi 01, which was launched this morning, was presented by the manufacturer at the last Paris exhibition.
With a length of 4.9 meters, a width of 1.9 meters, a height of 1.7 meters and a wheelbase of 2.9 meters, this is a generously sized vehicle, one click above the Kia Sorento and a little below the Genesis GV80 and the like.
However, unlike the other Midods, it only has 5 seats.
The volume of the trunk is very modest, for a compact family hatchback - 371 liters.

Three engines are placed on the drive of the Kofi 01;
2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline connected to two electric motors - front and rear, where all three together have a combined power of 476 hp and 86.4 kg.
A 9-speed gearbox and the dual drive due to the rear electric motor will accelerate it to 100 km/h in 5 seconds and up to a maximum of 235 km/h.
But the more impressive performance is not necessarily those of 0-100 as its pure electric range which stands at 146 km declared provided by the 36.7 kWh batteries.
The practical meaning is that for the vast majority of users it will be a daily behavior like a real electric vehicle and in any case it is a higher figure than any other plug-in model on the market.
The electrical system supports DC charging of 50 kW that will bring it from empty to 80 percent in 53 minutes.

The model will be marketed in two trim levels, Premium will be the entry-level version and the more equipped version.
And the list of accessories is definitely long, in both.
The multimedia system on a 14.6-inch screen, an additional 9-inch control screen for the vehicle systems, a 9.2-inch dashboard, voice activation, head-up display, Infiniti audio system, full and adaptive LED lighting, steering wheel heating, acoustic windows, driving modes, heating and electric adjustment for the front seats and the list goes on.
The level of finish to the Kashrei will add a parking system with driving backwards on the route you entered the parking lot, an elite display with augmented reality, heating for the rear seats, massage for the front, curtains for the rear windows, a panoramic roof and more.
The list of safety systems includes 8 airbags, automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, emergency maneuver assist system, lane departure correction with lane centering, speed sign recognition, "dead zone" vehicle warning, cross traffic warning with automatic braking.
In the finishing level, there is also a warning system against forgetting children in the car.
All of these are beyond the 5 stars the model received in the European crash test.

Relatively cheap compared to prices in Europe
Contrary to the early estimates based on its price in Europe, according to which the price of the model will be around NIS 350,000.
At least based on the dimensions, the equipment and of course the drive system - the importer managed to price the Kofi 01 very aggressively.
The price of the entry version will be NIS 270,000, while the specially equipped luxury version will cost NIS 300,000.
These are prices that overlap vehicles such as the Kia Sorento Hybrid or the Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel, and in any case are more than NIS 100,000 lower than the opening prices of plug-in crossovers from the German luxury brands, which are weaker and less equipped than it.
In fact, the basic Kofi 01 is only NIS 5,000 more expensive than the Toyota Rav4 plug-in, less equipped and with an official range of 75 km.
