Three people including a child died and eleven were injured on Saturday evening in a pileup that occurred on the A1 at the height of Herbécourt (Somme) near Péronne, say firefighters.
The collision, which occurred in the early evening, involved three vehicles according to firefighters and the Bison smart road information center, in the Lille-Paris direction.

According to the emergency services, three of the five people present on board a first vehicle, registered in Romania, died, two adults and a child.
The other two occupants are in relative emergency.
In the other two vehicles involved, nine people were injured more lightly, according to firefighters.
The eleven people in relative emergency were all taken care of and transported to three hospitals in the department, in Péronne, Montdidier and Amiens.
More than fifteen firefighter vehicles were mobilized, as well as the gendarmerie and various SAMU medical vehicles.
The highway was not cut but traffic was reduced to one lane, according to firefighters.
