Meta (Facebook) may return the Facebook and Instagram accounts of former United States President Donald Trump - according to a report in the Financial Times.
According to sources in the company, the president of Meta and responsible for global issues in the company, Nick Clegg, who organized a team to consider Trump's return to the position, is expected to make the decision within the next month.
The company blocked Trump's accounts following the storming of his supporters on Capitol Hill in Washington in January 2021, during the debate on the ratification of Joe Biden's victory in the election.
Trump, who has tens of millions of followers on social networks, spread inflammatory messages and claims before the unprecedented riot.
"(Trump's) decision to use the platform to denounce rather than condemn the actions of his supporters in the Capitol building has rightly disturbed people in the United States and around the world," CEO and owner Mark Zuckerberg said after the block.

Last November, Elon Musk reactivated Donald Trump's Twitter account, almost two years after the social network permanently blocked him.
The account was reinstated after a Twitter poll conducted by Musk on whether or not to reinstate Trump, in which just over 15 million people participated.
However, Trump said he would continue to use his new platform, Truth Social, an app developed by his startup company, which he said had better user engagement than Twitter and was doing "phenomenally."
