So what does The Simpsons have in store for us in 2023? Wars, a new virus and a surprising death

Did the Simpsons predict the winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics?

(1 minute story)

The writers of the yellow series, "The Simpsons", allegedly predicted historical events with phenomenal accuracy.

This happened to us in an episode from 1997 that allegedly predicted the results of the 2018 World Cup final match.

They scored a hit in the 2000 episode that allegedly predicted the election of Donald Trump to the US presidency and they did it for the third time in the 1993 episode that predicted - of course allegedly - the global spread of the corona virus.

In light of the successes, fans of the series shared the wildest predictions of the "family Simpson" for 2023 - and they range from global wars to a new and threatening virus no less than the corona. A Tiktok video shared by the user @rantersc briefly presents the dire predictions of "The Simpsons" for this year.

The video opens with a prediction of a war between the US and China, moves on to a new virus that Homer seems to be suffering from, continues with several global wars and world inflation and ends with the first US president and the death of Donald Trump in March 2023 (which perhaps shouldn't worry too much because according to the series the president of the US "B, Joe Biden, was already supposed to find his death last year).

@rantersc Just putting it out there!

YouTube channel Top 5 Scary Videos shared a similar video with the series' scariest predictions for 2023. One prediction involved humans reaching Mars.

"Look, eventually we're going to have to leave this star behind," Taylor Smith, the show's host, said in the video.

In the 16th episode of the 27th season of The Simpsons, called The Marge-ian Chronicles, Marge and Lisa volunteer to be part of the first humans to fly to the Red Planet and live on it.

Exploration Inc, a private company, hopes to send people to the Red Planet to colonize it by 2026. The end of the episode sees the mother and daughter living on Mars in 2050.

In our reality, SpaceX, led by billionaire Elon Musk, has a goal to reach Mars, with a previous assumption that humans will already be able to fly to this planet by today, which has not really happened yet.

Musk has long voiced his ambitions to colonize Mars: "If we succeed in making life on Mars possible, we will pass one of the biggest filters. It prepares us to be interstellar," Musk wrote on Twitter last year.

"Earth is about 4.5 billion years old, but life is not yet multiplanetary and it is very uncertain how long we have left to become one," he added.

Another creepy prediction of "The Simpsons" is the rise of the zombies.

"This idea came up a lot more than I thought it would when I was looking for The Simpsons predictions," Smith said, "Someone in the show's writers room has a very strong belief that this is how humanity will end."

Zombie attacks have occurred in several episodes of the series over the years.

In the episode Days of Future Future, zombies are part of everyday society as Lisa works in a soup kitchen and oversees the dead.

"Is this a glimpse of a dark future?"

Smith suggested.

Instead of being treated as the exterminators of humanity, the zombies in the episode are considered to be lower class humans compared to the living.

"I hope The Simpsons never ends - if only so they can always be around to predict the future for us," Smith concluded.
