Google Maps and Wise have always differed from each other, in that while Google Maps also helps plan trips, and shows users points of interest along the way such as restaurants, historical sites or shopping centers, Wise has always been focused solely on navigation: how to get from point A to point B in the fastest way .
But after the merger and "swallowing" of Wise into the Google Maps teams a few weeks ago, it looks like things are about to change.
First, a feature already reported by our colleagues on the Geektime - Wise website examines the possibility of triggering alerts when you reach "red" road sections, that is, those with a history of numerous traffic accidents.
Wise will pop up an alert, which also includes the length of the segment in question.

Another feature that Google Maps users are already familiar with is personal statistics at the end of a trip, such as how long it took, the distance you traveled, etc.
In response to a suggestion from a user, one of Wise replied that they are working on the development of a similar feature, such as how much time you spent each day behind the wheel, accuracy of arrival times, and more (arrival times is something that recently Wise has been known to screw up quite a bit...), so we may see Also this feature in the future.
Another interesting feature that is possibly going to be included in Wise is the possibility to add some profiles of cars.
So for example, if you have a company car and you know you will get reimbursed for driving on toll roads, you can include a separate profile for that car, which is nice.
In the past, distinctive features of Waze such as user reports on traffic jams made their way to Google Maps.
Now the traffic seems to be flowing - also in the opposite direction.
