After in-depth research and a comprehensive survey, Bezeq's ninth report on the state of the internet in Israel, which sums up the year 2022 in digital, was published and presented some intriguing data.

We all seem to be spending more time in front of screens as each of us develops our own digital life.

According to the report, which is based, among other things, on a survey conducted in collaboration with the TNS-KANTAR research institute, the number of surfers in Israel stands at approximately 6.7 million people, with each surfer on average downloading files with a volume of 15 gigabytes - an increase of 17 percent compared to last year.



The report presents another intriguing statistic: our time in front of the screens crossed for the first time the time we are not in front of the screens, with an average of 12.4 hours per day.

The report also shows that 46 percent of teenagers and 43 percent of children wear headphones at least half of the time.



Ultra-Orthodox surfers also took part in the survey, and according to the report no less than 80 percent of the ultra-Orthodox sector is connected to the Internet (54 percent of them use the WhatsApp application).

Another interesting statistic shows an increase in payments using Apple Pay or Google Pay services - according to the report, 45 percent of the respondents pay through the payment apps, compared to only 19 percent in 2021.

"This year we choose our digital power, when to increase and when to decrease the connection to the Internet. If until recently the Internet managed us, today the big change is reflected in the fact that we choose for ourselves a digital-free time and thereby manage our digital routine and not the other way around," she says Tali Folg, Vice President of Marketing at Bezeq.



"Half of our day is indeed in front of the screens, but if a year ago most of the time was dedicated to work or studies, today we choose to use the Internet mainly for leisure pursuits, gaming and online shopping.
