Lisa Marie Presley, home of Elvis Presley, who died at the age of 54 (Reuters)
The singer Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of the king of rock and roll Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley, died tonight (Friday) of a heart attack in a hospital in Los Angeles and she is only 54 years old. Her mother issued a statement to the media saying: "It is with a heavy heart that I share the news "It's hard that my beautiful daughter, Lisa Marie, has left us. She was the strongest, most loving and most passionate woman I knew. We ask for privacy as we deal with this loss."
Presley suffered a cardiac arrest at her home in Los Angeles, from where she was taken to the hospital.
She underwent CPR that restored her pulse for a while, but a few hours later she was pronounced dead.

Presley was born in 1968. Her father died when she was only eight years old, at his estate, Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee.
The mansion, a center of attraction for tourists from all over the world, was owned by her.
Their relationship was very close.
One of the famous stories about the two concerns the time he flew her especially to the state of Idaho, after she told him she had never seen snow.
She herself started a musical career in 2003, and released three albums, in which she demonstrated an independent musical style, but were also a tribute to her father.
The New York Times reported that at Tuesday's Golden Globe Awards, she referenced the film about her father's life that came out this year, saying of lead actor Baz Luhrmann's performance that he "captured the essence of my father perfectly."
