A few days after the death of the singer Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of the rock king Elvis Presley, it becomes clear how much she suffered recently from loneliness, physical hardship and mental crises.

The interview she gave on the red carpet at the Golden Globes ceremony, just two days before she passed away as a result of a heart attack, sharpened how difficult it was for her to stand steady on her own.

She looked weak in the interview, her eyes looked heavy, she held onto her father Elvis' old manager, 80-year-old Jerry Schilling, throughout, and here and there she also got confused and forgot words.

In other footage from the Golden Globes, she appears to be having trouble going down stairs.

The interview at the Golden Globes, in which she praised Austin Butler for his role as Elvis Presley in the biopic about her father, is actually the last time Lisa Marie was seen in public.

To this can be added another rare public appearance that was on Sunday at Graceland, where it was possible to get a clearer picture of her poor health.

Lisa Marie Presley arrived at her late father's estate, which belongs to her, and on the occasion of his 88th birthday, addressed the fans and told them that she hardly leaves the house.

"You are the only people who can get me out of the house these days," she told them.

A source close to the family told the American media that Presley, who lived most of her life in the spotlight, "lived a lonely life" and had a hard time since her 27-year-old son Benjamin Keo ended his life in 2020.

Presley's appearance on her father's birthday

"In her last years, Presley was grieving for her son," said the source.

"He was her baby and he trusted her a lot. Her world fell apart when he died, she couldn't digest it and deal with it, and she barely left the house."

In a column she wrote for "People" newspaper, Presley referred to the pain she experienced following that loss: "But it does not stop or disappear, even years after the loss. It is something that must be carried for the rest of one's life, even though some people want us to believe otherwise."

Presley was born in 1968. Her father died when she was only eight years old, at his estate, Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee.

She herself started a musical career in 2003, and released three albums, in which she demonstrated an independent musical style, but were also a tribute to her father.

She married four times.

Her first husband was the musician Danny Keo.

She divorced him in 1994, and 20 days later married Michael Jackson.

In 1996, in the midst of the legal scandal over the sexual exploitation of minors that Jackson was at the center of, she divorced him.

In 2002, she married actor Nicolas Cage again.

The two divorced four months later.

Her fourth marriage was to her guitarist and producer, Michael Lockwood.
