The limited supply of 4x4 pickup trucks in Israel is expanding: in the coming weeks Telkar will launch the Ssangyong Muso, after winning the government vehicle manager's tender for a pickup truck for the police, MGB and other security forces. Along with the Muso, the Toyota Hilux also won.

The Moso was originally the SUV with which Ssangyong was launched in Israel back in the 90s.
Now the name is used by the current generation of the Korean company's pickup truck, which was launched in 2018 and is based on the Harxton platform, one of the last 4x4 vehicles that still offers a ladder chassis and power transmission.
The Muso will offer the same components, equipped with the same 2,200 cc turbo-diesel engine, but with a power of 180 hp and equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The cabin components were also taken from the Harxton, including the dashboard.
Unlike its predecessor, the Action Sports, which suffered from a small trunk and lower carrying capacity than the competition, the new Muso is equipped with an enlarged cabin (1.3 meters long, 1.57 meters wide), capable of carrying 1.1 tons of cargo and has a towing capacity of 3 tons for a trailer with brakes.
The ground clearance is 21.5 cm.
The Muso will arrive in Israel with an autonomous emergency braking system, but has not yet participated in the European crash test, the Euroencap.

According to the tender documents, the price of the new Muso to the public will be NIS 260,000, NIS 6,000-8,000 cheaper than the basic automatic 4x4 models of Toyota Hilux and Isuzu Dimax.
These are marketed with weaker engines, 2,400 cc 150 hp in the Toyota and 1,900 cc 163 hp in the Isuzu.
