Mercedes updates the CLA Coupé and CLA Shooting Brake in terms of aesthetics, technology and engines.
Visually, the compact cars of the three-pointed star receive a sportier image through a new front apron, revised radiator grille and revised rear diffuser.
The line is also enhanced by the standard High Performance LED headlights, the LED rear lights, and the new spectral blue and hyper blue colors, the latter exclusive to the CLA.
There is no shortage of rims that can have dimensions up to 19 inches, to further customize the silhouette.
At the multimedia system level, the latest generation of MBUX arrives, with a newly designed display.
One can opt for Classic-style instrumentation, which offers the driver the most relevant information;
for the one called Sporty, in which the dynamic rev counter stands out;
or for an essential instrument cluster identified by the name Discreet.
The central display offers all the previous functions, while connectivity with smartphones via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto is now wireless.
Optionally, two 10.25-inch displays in widescreen look are available, offering a holistic high-tech experience.

Furthermore, by activating the online services in the Mercedes me app, the Hey Mercedes voice assistant becomes even more advanced in terms of communication and learning.
As for the engines, the petrol units are all 4-cylinder, with standard 7- or 8-speed DCT automatic transmission, and take advantage of mild hybrid technology.
In fact, they have an additional 48-volt on-board power supply, which offers an additional 10 kW of power, for greater acceleration.
Powers range from 136 HP of the CLA 180 with the 1.3-litre engine, to 224 HP of the CLA 250 powered by the 2-litre turbo engine coupled to 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
The diesel engines all have a displacement of 2 liters with power ranging from 116 to 190 HP.
The models with the 218 HP plug-in hybrid power unit can count on more power, given that the electric compartment delivers 5 kW more, and on an advanced battery that allows for an increase in range in electric mode.
This can also be charged with alternating current up to 11 kW instead of the previous 7.4 kW, or with direct current up to 22 kW.
In this way it recovers from 10% to 80% of energy in about 25 minutes.
At the top of the range we find the AMG variants, identified by the initials 35 and 45 S, powered by high-performance 2-litre turbo engines, respectively delivering 306 and 421 HP.
For the first time, the CLA AMG 35 adopts a 48-volt electrical system and a belt-driven starter motor, which offers a temporary boost of 10 kW.
The CLA 45 S 4MATIC+, in the coupé and shooting brake variants, also sports the special limited edition AMG Street Style Edition.
This is characterized by the gray Manufaktur livery, the AMG motif in the side panel, as well as the 19-inch matt black wheels with high-gloss piping from which the red brake calipers emerge, and the neon orange accents.
The new CLA Coupé and CLA Shooting Brake are equipped as standard with 17-inch five-spoke light-alloy wheels in vanadium silver or five-twin-spoke design in high-gloss black;
the interior with new colors and finishes;
and the dual independent screen consisting of a 7-inch and a 10.25-inch display.
The basic equipment of the two new models also includes the Highbeam Assist, the reversing camera and the USB package, as well as the leather steering wheel and LED headlights.
