Volkswagen Amarok 2022 (Volkswagen)
After the first encounter with it at the global launch definitely left a very positive impression, the new Amarok arrives in the local market to compete with the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu D Max, the only two players left in the field with the departure of the Mitsubishi Triton and Nissan Navara.
The new Amarok is another aspect of the collaboration between Ford and Volkswagen in which the two companies produce different versions of some of their commercial vehicles.
In the case of the Amarok, his twin from the Blue Oval house will be the Ranger.
There are also rumors around him about a desire to import to Israel, but without the ability or expectation in the near term.

For Volkswagen, which is very well known in the commercial world with vehicles such as the Transporter, the Caddy and the Crafter, this is a second round with the van that was previously marketed here between 2013 and 2021.
Unlike the previous round, this time it is significantly more expensive, we will get to that later.
As mentioned, the base is Ford's Ranger, a new ladder chassis with more loading and towing capacity (1,125 kg and 3.5 tons with brakes respectively), as before it combines coil springs in front and wishbones in front with a live axle and leaf springs in the back. The overall length stands At 5.4 meters, the width is 1.9 meters and the height is 1.9 meters. The wheelbase has been stretched to 327 cm (310 in the past) so that it improves the living conditions for those sitting in the back.

The Amarok will arrive in Israel with a 3.0-liter V6 engine with a capacity of 240 hp and a match to an automatic transmission with 10 transmission ratios. The power will go to the four wheels with permanent dual drive. For more serious off-road uses, it will allow the use of power transmission and rear differential lock. Abroad It is also paired with 4-cylinder engines with 150 hp and at the top end 302 hp versions.
We get the middle engine on offer.
The tires it will be equipped with vary between the trim levels, with the basic "Style" having 255/65 on 18-inch rims and the more senior "Adventura" having 255/55 on 20-inch rims.

The entry version of the Amarok will be the "style" in which it will be equipped with a digital dashboard and a 12-inch multimedia screen, electric adjustment for the front seats, heated seats, Android and Apple connectivity, a removable tow hook, split climate control, wireless mobile charging, LED lighting, side steps and protection for the engine, the transfer case and the fuel tank.
The "Adventura" finish level adds, besides the aforementioned different tires, leather upholstery and a "Harman Kardon" sound system with 10 speakers.
Both trim levels have a list of advanced safety systems that include automatic braking, distance warning, lane departure correction, blind spot warning, automatic braking when reversing, adaptive cruise control, 360 degree cameras and more.

Contrary to the early estimates at its launch, the prices of the Amarok suffered a significant increase in price on the way here.
Not only a jump of NIS 100 thousand compared to the outgoing generation, but also more than the initial expectation.
At the time, the amounts were a little over NIS 300,000 for "Adventura" and a little less for "Style".
Actually, upon its landing here, the price for the style version starts at NIS 360,000, while the higher finish level will cost NIS 400,000.
The deliveries themselves will begin at the end of June.
The Hamrock is indeed stronger and better equipped than the Japanese vans, but nevertheless it is a pricing that places it far above their price tags.. This is the case with the Isuzu D Max which costs between 269 and 280 thousand shekels and the same with the king of the category the Hilux draft which in the dual drive versions starts from 250 thousand NIS and up to NIS 318,000 for the "Sahara" trim level with the powerful engine.
