More than half a million views:

A viral reel that has been tearing up Instagram in Israel in recent days has revealed how the AirPods are turning into a eavesdropping device for everything.

We emphasize: this is a feature that has existed in Apple's wireless headphones since 2018, and was recently (again) more widely revealed.

How It Works?

The trick is very simple and uses a seemingly innocent feature - "listening in real time", which is intended for hard of hearing people, with its help you can hear a conversation in a noisy area or even hear someone talking on the other side of the room.

To use the feature, iOS version 14.3 or later must be installed.

To activate the feature - go to the settings, click on "Control Center" and then add the "Hearing" control.

With the AirPods in your ears, pull down the top menu on the iPhone, click on the ear icon and then on "Listen in real time".

After that, you can leave the iPhone in the next room (within Bluetooth range) and listen to everything that happens.

We will of course note that this is not about inventing the method, you can leave the phone in the office with the recording application open or other similar methods, nevertheless you should from now on when you see an abandoned iPhone in your environment... pay attention to what comes out of your mouth.
