The Alpine A110 R, like the other cars of the brand, has a close connection with motorsport, which it amplifies through specific elements of the model.

Look at the

Alpine A110 R photos

The combination between the blue racing mat, a paid livery of 6,100 euros, and the carbon fiber details, such as the front bonnet, the front splitter, and even the cover that takes the place of the rear window, is immediately evident.

There is also a specific rear wing, with gooseneck attachments, the diffuser and side skirts, also in carbon, for an aerodynamic look developed in collaboration with the F1 team. Specifically, the rear aerodynamic load increases by 29 kg , compared to the S version, reaching 110 kg.

At the same time, drag has been reduced by 5%, so top speed reaches 285 km/h, while sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.9 seconds.

The frame has been developed to make the most of the semi-slick Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, which is why the Alpine A110 R is 10 mm lower and, for track use, allows for a lower ground clearance than other 10mm.

It also features specific anti-roll bars, with stiffness increased by 10% at the front and 25% at the rear. Weighing just 1082kg, 34kg less than the A110 S, the R is ready to hit the track.

We drove it at the Jarama circuit in Madrid, where the 6-point belts were essential in counteracting lateral acceleration.

In slope changes, in downhill and uphill curves, the Alpine A110 R has shown that it lives up to its identifying acronym, which stands for radical.

The carbon care is felt, it is perceived that each component does its duty.

In these situations you can appreciate the sound of the double exhaust terminal with a double wall in 3D printing, the thrust of the 300 HP 4-cylinder 1.8 turbo, and the precision of the 7-speed wet double clutch automatic transmission.

Furthermore, it is comforting to know that the braking system, with 320 mm discs in bi-material, benefits from a 20% improvement in terms of cooling.

The sessions follow one another, and the R shows no sign of fatigue, it is ideal for doing well on trackdays.

On the road, the absence of the rear window is felt, especially in traffic, as is the set-up, and there is a fear of damaging the carbon fiber rims.

The seats, which alone allow you to save 5 kg thanks to their carbon structure, are comfortable if compared to the type of car, while the 6-point belts represent another price to pay for the extreme sportiness of the R.

With a minimum of adaptation this Alpine can also be driven in everyday life, but it is undeniable that its natural environment is the track.

The price is 107,000 euros, and the 2023 production is already sold out.
