: Senior filmmakers such as Ari Pullman, Hagai Levy, Yosef Sider, Guy Nativ, Maor Zagori and more openly called on their friends to refrain from submitting support requests to the Rabinovitch Fund - the only film fund that currently requires artists to sign a "loyalty clause" in advance, and recently stated Culture Minister Miki Zohar says he intends to oblige the other film funds to follow suit: "We are in a new reality. If we don't say 'no' now - we will miss the opportunity for change."

This is what they wrote in the letter they published: "Next week is the submission deadline for the Rabinovitch Foundation. As we know, the Rabinovitch Foundation is the first and only foundation in Israel that has volunteered to include in its contracts a declaration of loyalty and requires everyone who contracts with it to publicly declare and pledge that he is an obedient citizen, as a condition for receiving support. Many of us, including some of the signatories of this letter, received support from the Rabinovitch Foundation in recent years and even signed the aforementioned trust clause.

We do not come to discredit their names, or cast blame on them, the world of cinema is small, the means of financing it are poor and there are people who were forced to stick with this dangerous precedent.

"However, we are in a new reality - there is a new regime that is determined, and is able this time, to promote substantial damage to critical areas of human rights, justice, freedom of speech and creation and Israeli culture. The new Minister of Culture even stated that he will follow the initiative of the Rabinovitz Foundation and will require producers to also state that no will harm the "good name" of the country. If it is not said now and simply

"We are not ready to be signed on a commitment not to violate state laws in our works," they wrote further.

"Not because we want to break the law, but because we are not ready for officials to make people "instant suspects", just because they might belong to a different political camp than theirs. We believe in civil rights and freedom of speech, for all sectors and different opinions in society. Therefore, we request From all our sisters and brothers creators and creators of film and television, from all shades of society and from all sectors - to refrain from the upcoming submission to the Rabinovitch Fund. Failure to submit at the date close to the fund, will serve as a warning sign to the managers of the fund and its officials and will allow them, thus we hope to enter into a dialogue with the creators in order to cancel the shameful appendices .

"If we don't do this now, the day will not be far when the successful and fruitful Israeli cinema, the one that reaches many audiences in Israel and around the world, will become marginalized, excluded from collaborations with other countries, from international festivals, and from major film events. Welcome investments by international film funds in the Israeli economy will stop, And a flourishing and thriving industry will be lost. The signatories of this letter promise and declare that they will stand by any young creator who finds himself harmed in some way by the avoidance of the current submission, promise to act in solidarity with the other creators and to assist as much as possible in any case where differences of opinion between creators and producers arise in this matter."
