25 years after the successful program "Popolitica" went off the screen, voila!

Tarbut learned that the corporation wants to return to the screen a program that will be similar to it.

This morning (Thursday) the corporation issued a call for production companies to submit proposals for a live daily program with an audience.

Similar to "Popolitica", this program is also expected to deal with politics, culture and economy - and it is expected to be faithful to the format in "Popolitica", i.e. presenter, panel, alternating guests - and of course an audience in the studio.

Sources around the corporation told Wala!

Culture because this program is part of the corporation's attempt to add diversity to the screen.

"The intention is to create a program that will influence the discourse in Israel, and bring voices from the entire Israeli spectrum. We aim for big names to come to the program, that is, to have public opinion leaders, journalists from within the corporation and journalists from outside the corporation sit on it."

In addition to these, the program will not be managed by the news division but by the culture and entertainment division.

According to the calling voice, the program is expected to be broadcast before the news, i.e. on the "Fre Prime" channel.

Popolitica was broadcast on Channel One from 1992 to 1998 and was a great success.

The one who initially submitted it was Dan Margalit and the regular panelists were Yosef (Tommy) Lapid, Amnon Dankner and Israel Eichler.

Later Yaakov Achimair replaced Margalit but very quickly Margalit returned to his position until 1997. From that year he was replaced by Nissim Mashal.

In 1998, "Popolitica" went off the air, and Valip and Dankner moved to Channel 2, where they teamed up with Margalit and put on a similar program called "Everything is Political" which aired for one season.

The corporation refused to comment on the matter.
