The Emilian capital is the seventh city in the country, the second metropolitan city after Turin, to launch the 'Wheels still, pedestrians safe' project, conceived by the AFVS - Association of Families and Road Victims, with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Justice and Anci.
The memorandum of understanding was signed today in the Municipality by the commander of the Local Police Romano Mignani and by the delegate of the Silvia Frisina association.
The first assistants made available for the service will be 20, taken over by the inter-district office of external criminal execution of Bologna, with reference to both probation and the substitute penalty for driving while under the influence of alcohol and under the influence of alcohol. effect of drugs.
After a brief training period by the local police officers, the defendants, suspects and convicts will perform functions of supervision of pedestrian crossings at risk, especially near schools and judicial offices.
Everyone will be equipped with a high visibility bib and paddle.
"It is a road safety project to protect the weakest users, with a re-educational purpose for people who can mend the broken pact with society - explains Frisina - What better way to repair than on the road, the place where they committed the crime".
The City is defining the areas in which to introduce the new pedestrian assistants.
