It is around 8:20 p.m. Saturday evening, when the firefighters and the police intervene at the home of a young woman in Limoges (Haute-Vienne).
His body lies near the sofa with a bullet in the head.
Her sister tries to resuscitate her, in vain.
When the emergency services take over, it is already too late.
On the spot, is also the companion of the young woman aged 36 years.
To the police officers who interrogate him, Farid explains that he was handling a 7.56 caliber pistol which had just jammed.
“He would then have pulled the trigger and the shot would have gone off accidentally.
The bullet would have hit his wife in the head while she was sitting on the sofa, ”says a source close to the case.
The man, distraught, would have warned the sister of his wife who would have rushed to the scene while alerting the emergency services.
He was arrested and placed in police custody, as was the victim's sister.
The suspect known for violence against former spouses
The couple is not known to police files for acts of domestic violence.
But the study of the judicial past of the detainee revealed that he had been violent with former spouses.
"One thing is certain, he had no authorization to hold this weapon which was apprehended by the police," adds our source.
This Sunday, the hearings of the two suspects, both known to the police, are still in progress.
Investigators want to better understand how the tragedy unfolded.
