Mike Krieger and Kevin Systrom, founders of Instagram, which was sold to Facebook (meta) in 2014, are making a comeback with Artifact, a new social network that provides a Tiktok-like experience - only with text instead of video.
According to a report on The Verge website, the new application is based on artificial intelligence (AI), which studies the user's interests and offers him articles and articles from around the web in a way.
Upon entering the application, Artifact will offer users articles from official and well-known sources such as the New York Times.
Thus, gradually, as the user reads more articles, the application will begin to customize the feed according to the type of content that interests him.
According to Systrom, the development team prioritizes the reading time we devote, over clicks and comments.
He further added that the social network will present news articles from sources from the right and left side of the political map, and will not allow the publication of posts that "promote fake news".

In the future, the application will also incorporate a social component, and Systrom and Krieger plan to distribute an update that will highlight articles from users we follow, alongside their commentary on the content and even sending private messages.
At the moment, the entrepreneurs are financing the project with their own money.
According to them, Artifact "represents a first attempt to imagine what the next generation of social applications could look like".
For now, Artifact is not available for download, but you can register on the official website to get early access.
