It's a vehicle you certainly don't expect to find on the highway.
And who has nothing to do with it!
And yet… this Saturday at the end of the day, the gendarmes arrested a 29-year-old man who had just left the A1 motorway on… a scooter, reports France Bleu.
The police were alerted by a motorist who had just seen the man driving in the Paris-Lille direction.
They intercepted him when he was, on his own, off the highway, near the town of Maurepas, between Albert and Péronne.
The “disoriented” man
As detailed by local radio, the user of the scooter was installed on a bench when the gendarmes found him.
He seemed "disoriented" and was taken by the emergency services to Péronne hospital.
If the facts are astonishing, it is not the first time that they have occurred.
In 2019, a man was filmed riding an electric scooter on the A86 motorway in Seine-Saint-Denis.
He was traveling at least 85 km / h, according to a video taken by a taxi driver who witnessed the scene at the time.
Without a gray card or registration, scooter-type two-wheelers - even if they are electric - are not allowed to travel on a fast lane or a motorway.
