Tonight (between Sunday and Monday) the 2023 Grammy Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles. Comedian Trevor Noah hosted for the third time in a row.

Beyoncé, who was nominated for nine awards, already breaking the record for the number of wins for a single singer, broke another one tonight when she raked in the largest cumulative number of wins of any artist to date.

The record previously belonged to orchestra and opera conductor Georg Schulti, who died in 1997.

Beyoncé won four awards tonight for her latest album, "Renaissance", including the R&B Song of the Year ("Cuff It") and the Dance/Electronic Album of the Year.

When she went on stage to receive the fourth statuette, the audience stood up in her honor with thunderous applause and the singer had a hard time holding back her tears.

It should be noted that in the number of nominations, Beyonce has the largest number, 88, a record she shares with her husband, Jay-Z.

Besides Beyoncé, the religious gospel group Maverick City Music and the veteran blues singer Bonnie Raitt also won four awards tonight.

One of the latter's wins was for the song of the year - "Just Like That".

Harry Styles won three awards tonight, including album of the year for "Harry's House".

Lizo won the Record of the Year award for the song "About Damn Time".

Samara Joy won the Best New Artist award.

Kendrick Lamar won Best Rap Album for "Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers."

Willie Nelson won Country Album for "A Beautiful Time."

Adele won the 16th Grammy of her career when "Easy on Me" was named Best Pop Vocal Performance.

Sam Smith and Kim Peters took home the award for Best Pop Performance/Duo for "Unholy."

Peters is the first transgender woman to win the category.

Another noteworthy win: actress Viola Davis joined the EGOT club tonight, those who have won the four most coveted awards in their field - Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

She received the Grammy Award for the narration she did for the audiobook of her autobiography, Finding Me.
