This is not a mistake: while the iPhone 14 series suffers from significant shortcomings and the announcement of the iPhone 15 models is 7 months away from us, the first report actually refers to the iPhone 16 series, which Apple is expected to announce
only in September 2024
According to the publication in the Bloomberg News Agency, Apple is planning a new "Ultra" model that will become the most advanced and elite model - above the Pro models.
However, it is difficult to say how Apple will succeed in differentiating the new model from the other models in the series, but according to estimates, the iPhone 16 Ultra will have a faster and more powerful processor, better camera hardware than the Pro and Pro Max models, and an even larger screen.
"There may also be additional future features, such as the elimination of the charging socket," the report said.
Recall that Apple has recently faced low demand for the basic models - especially the iPhone Plus, so it is not surprising that the latest reports focus on the company's attempt to create a greater separation from the pro models, which will also be reflected in the price.
For example, in the latest report it was claimed that the next Pro versions will come with WiFi 6E connectivity, while only WiFi 6 connectivity will be found in the base models.

In any case, we are more than a year and a half away from the announcement event in question, so things may still change and as of this writing these are only future plans that may ultimately remain just an idea and not mature into a product that will reach stores.
