Google's attempt to fight back in the artificial intelligence arena ended today precisely in a media embarrassment and the fall of its value in the stock market due to a lack of attention to details on the part of the search giant.
The mistake occurred at the same time as the launch of a chatbot system based on artificial intelligence - Bard - as part of an event that was livestreamed from Paris, the company tried to show that it is a system that surpasses the popular ChatGPT, among other things that it can be updated immediately on current events similar to its search engine, as well as the map and image services of Google, and does not rely on static data entry.
Google's presentation came a day after Microsoft announced the integration of the ChatGPT system into its Bing search engine, hoping that it would be able to truly compete with the search engine of the giant from California.
At the launch, the capabilities of the system were presented, among other things by asking me for advice on whether it is worth going to buy an electric vehicle and how to plan a trip to Northern California.
But to the astonishment of many, alongside the display, Google uploaded on its Twitter account another demonstration of the system in which the question was asked "What are the new discoveries from the James Webb Space Telescope that can be told to my 9-year-old child".

Bard initially answered with two correct answers, but a third answer was proved incorrect when the system claimed that the innovative telescope provided the first ever images of an extrasolar planet.
A short time later, investors on the stock exchange tested their opinion on the capabilities of the new system: Google's parent company, Alphabet, lost about 8% of its value.
This means that the value of the company dropped by no less than 100 billion dollars.
