On video: emergency conference of the organization of journalists against the corporate bond (Walla system!)
Many organizations representing the world of culture and art in Israel today (Wednesday) expressed strong opposition to the legal revolution that the government aims to promote, and called on elected officials to stop it.
The organizations, which represent, among others, artists, creators and performers, theaters, orchestras, museums, galleries, dance troupes, directors and producers, television and film personalities, heads of cultural and art institutions, independent creators and more sent their protest this morning to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Justice Minister Yariv Levin , Minister of Culture Miki Zohar and Legal Adviser to the Government Gali Beharev-Miara.
"We, the cultural and art organizations in Israel, express complete opposition to the attempts of the legislative and executive authorities to weaken the judicial authority and thereby bring about a coup d'état that changes the system of government and eliminates the democratic nature of the State of Israel. We believe that this entails a fatal injury to its national, social, and security strength and the country's economy," the letter said.

The organizations explained that their role is to "maintain independence and scope for voices from diverse sectors, and enable the promotion of freedom of expression and the creation of equality and critical discourse", therefore it is their duty to join the protest against harming the court's ability to protect human rights.
"Without the justice system - we will all be subject to the good will of the government," they emphasized.
"As people of culture and as citizens of the country, we see before our eyes a disastrous reality that endangers the continuation of common life in this place, and threatens to destroy the moral values and the continued existence of Israel as a country that protects human dignity and freedom. We call on the government to stop promoting reforms that undermine democracy, and to act responsibly What is expected of elected officials towards the citizens of the country," the organizations added.
