In a conversation with shareholders yesterday (Wednesday), Disney CEO Bob Iger announced losses, the loss of subscribers to the streaming service, and layoffs that will be forced across the corporation. But at the same time, he also announced a series of sequels to some of the company's beloved and successful franchises. "Toy "Toy

Story" will get a fifth film, "Break the Ice" will get a third film, while "Zootropolis" will yield a first sequel.

"Toy Story" spawned a spin-off last year, "Light Years," which focused on the "original" character of Buzz Lightyear , the one based on which the familiar toy from the previous films was created, but it was not a success at the box office. In contrast, the two previous films in the "Toy Story" series earned more than a billion dollars worldwide, and that's without considering the accompanying merchandising, including the sale of toys in their characters of the film's heroes.

The first "Break the Ice" was released in 2013 and became a huge hit.

The much-anticipated sequel arrived in 2019 and earned more than $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office.

Beyond the movies, the franchise also spawned a show on ice, a Broadway musical, numerous short films, television specials and books for Disney.

In 2016, "Zotropolis" also crossed the threshold of one billion dollars in revenues worldwide.
