The American actress Raquel Walsh, one of the biggest movie stars of the 60s and 70s, passed away at the age of 82 - as reported this evening (Wednesday) by the TMZ website.
According to the report, Walsh died of a brief illness.
Walsh participated for a little more than a decade in about 30 films, the best known of which is "The Three Musketeers", for which she even won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical.
At the end of the 1970s, her film career stopped, although she returned to play small roles in the cinema (for example in the film "Not Just Blonde") and mainly in television (for example in the series "Spin City").
During her heyday, Walsh was immensely popular, and was a sex symbol and a fashion and culture icon.
For example, the poster in Andy Dufresne's cell in the movie "Walls of Hope" is by Raquel Walsh.
Walsh was married four times, leaving behind two children.
