The star, who in 2003/04 played Mike, Phoebe's partner in the last two seasons of the still-super-successful comedy, believes that his character should not have appeared in the episode that signed "Friends"

Paul Rudd, who these days is promoting his new film "Antman and the Wasp: Quantumamania", was interviewed in his honor on a British radio program and revealed that he regrets participating in the last episode of "Friends" - but not for grumbling reasons, but the opposite.

As every fan remembers, Rudd appeared in 17 episodes during the last two seasons of "Friends" in the role of Mike Hannigan, who became the partner of Phoebe Buffa (Lisa Kudrow) and finally her husband.

But now he says that he doesn't feel that his performance in the last episode was worthy, simply because for the regular cast it was the very emotional end of an era, while he was there on the standard of an outside guest.

This is not the first time that Rad tells about his experiences on the set of the last episode of "Friends".

In an interview with the British comedian Graham Norton in 2019, Rudd said: "'Friends' was an amazing thing to be a part of, and the whole experience seemed a bit surreal and a bit blurry. I only got to a few episodes, it turned into a few more episodes. It was towards the end of the show, which was a phenomenon ... I was in the last episode, which made no sense to me at all."

He added and said that he tried to break the ice when he saw Jennifer Aniston hugging one of the creators of the series, Martha Kaufman, and both were crying.

"I thought, I'm not supposed to be there," he said.

"So to break the ice I went to her and just said, 'We did it, huh? What an experience.'"

The joke didn't make her laugh, Rudd added.

His first meeting with Aniston on the set of "Friends" did not go well either.

"I was on the set of my first episode," he told Norton, "and Jennifer was on a Segway because she broke her toe, and everyone was amazed. Matt LeBlanc asked to try and immediately knew how to do it. Then I asked to try it too. I turned and rolled Him right on Jennifer's leg! The panicked look from the producers seemed to say, 'Too late to fire him? His character already established?'

I felt terrible. Such a bad start."

Don't worry, the two have remained friends over the years.

They knew each other even earlier and even starred together as a couple in two film comedies: "The Object of My Love" from 1998 - Aniston was already a star in "Friends" and Paul Rudd was known for films such as "Clueless", several years before he came to be a guest in the series - and "You, Me and the Rest" from 2012.

But the two were also beyond professional colleagues - for a short time, during the filming of "The Object of My Love", Rudd and Aniston went out together, according to the gossip sites.

When they teamed up again years later for the next film, the two were asked in a joint interview if it wasn't awkward for them to kiss each other.

"No, I kissed him for years," Aniston said, while Rudd added: "We flirted for decades."
