The interview that took place in Berlin was published yesterday (Sunday) ahead of his appearance in Israel on June 1st at Yarkon Park.
What mostly attracted the attention of the world media is the last episode of the interview, which included the following amusing dialogue between Williams and the salons:

"Yes, sure, I have audacity (in Hebrew). Sure."
So let me ask you a cheeky question, as a father of four Jewish children, how much Judaism is felt in your home?
Is there a Jewish holiday that you particularly like?
"We do Hanukkah (he says the name of the holiday several times, until he manages to pronounce it in impressive Hebrew) and also "Pesach" from time to time. The truth is that I asked to do Hanukkah this year, because we both made atonement with faith in our religions. I am Catholic who distanced himself from religion, and she (his wife Aida) is a Jew who distanced herself from religion - but it is important for us to have a tribe. It is important for us to have a sense of belonging."
So your tribe is Catholic-Jewish?
"Yes totally".

"You know, I feel more Jewish than I feel Catholic. I even looked into the possibility of converting."

"Yes, yes, but it just takes too much time, so I decided to simply identify as a Jew."

"That's exactly what I do."

This is really the most painless way.
"That's it, I'm in. But please write 'Robbie said it with a twinkle in his eye' because that sentence can easily be taken out of context. I can just imagine the headlines: 'Robbie Williams identifies as Jewish'. And suddenly I'm Sam Smith. That's fine Done for Sam Smith. I identify as a Jew but I also identify as Cristiano Ronaldo."

The world's media - led by the British tabloids - could not ignore this conversation.
The British METRO devoted an article quoting from the interview under the title: "Robbie Williams jokes when he says he 'identifies as a Jew' and doesn't sound enthusiastic about the idea of circumcision either."
In the British Daily Mail the headline was: "'I feel more Jewish than Catholic': Robbie Williams reveals he considered converting but gave it up because of the idea of circumcision".
In Yahoo News and the BANG Showbiz news agency in New Zealand the headline was: "Robbie Williams tells why he didn't convert: 'No, no, not to circumcision!'"
