Calm your guilty conscience, balance your own ecological footprint, do something good for the climate - all this is available for a few dollars and a few clicks in a United Nations online shop.
On the »UN Carbon Offset Platform«, private individuals can offset their Co2 emissions and buy climate certificates at reasonable prices.
"I couldn't have imagined that the whole system would end up broken," says Benedikt Dietsch from the research startup "Flip".
With a self-experiment, the climate journalist tried to offset his emissions for a whole year and paid only 14 dollars for it.
He came across a broken system and traveled to the Brazilian prairies to do his research.
