Surprise for the choice of the best cell phone in the world at MWC 2023: which one did the experts vote for?

2023-03-06T16:37:14.814Z

In the event chosen by the manufacturers to present the novelties of the Android universe, the top prize went to Apple.

The MWC 2023 is one of the great international technology fairs, where all the news from the Android universe are presented.

The irony of the last edition is that, as happens every year, the

best smartphone

was chosen .

And the most voted was the iPhone 14 Pro.

And although Apple

has not attended

this type of event for years since it prefers to celebrate its own in its own facilities, that does not prevent it from being victorious in the most important categories of these awards.

Not content with the major distinction, the Apple device has also won the prize

for the greatest innovation

in a device for its Emergency SOS function via satellite that incorporates this line of phones.

As the organizers of the awards explain, the award for the best smartphone is given to the one that combines

outstanding performance, innovation and leadership

.

The winner is chosen after evaluating the phones launched on the market during the period between January 2022 and December 2022. The winners are chosen by analysts, journalists and influential personalities from the industry.

MWC 2023: the best of the Android world

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was also on the podium.

This year Xiaomi, within the Android line up, was the brand that

most managed to stand out

from the rest, with the Xiaomi 13 family and augmented reality glasses.

The Chinese firm defined its product as "the ultimate in innovation" and accompanies it with Leica cameras, 5G connectivity, WiFi 6, 8 or 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM memory and UFS 4.0 storage.

up to 512GB.

The strongest argument offered by the 13 Pro is in its three

50-megapixel

lenses that are incorporated into a quadrilateral-shaped module.

In addition, the experts have selected four other devices that have been several votes away from obtaining the award.

All of them are Android devices, though well below iOS:

  • Google Pixel 7 Pro

  • Nothing Phone (1)

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4

  • Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

What is striking about this selection is that

a mid-range device

like the Nothing Phone (1) has managed to reach the top 5 best smartphones of 2022 for the MWC 2023 experts.

The new Moto Rizr, Motorola's prototype, also garnered much criticism.

It raises an interesting and innovative proposal: a roll-up screen to expand the functions of the device.

It is a compact size phone, whose screen is extended when necessary.

Its size starts with a conventional 5-inch format and can be extended to 6.5 inches, thanks to an engine that unrolls the screen.

The RIZR seeks to answer the same need as the 2019 foldable RAZR. The underlying idea is how to deliver a smartphone that is conventionally sized when needed, but more compact when in the pocket.

Another of the winners was the OnePlus 11, which undoubtedly stole the looks of MWC2023 with its prototype that includes Active CryoFlux technology, liquid cooling on the back of the device.

This system allows the device's temperature to be reduced by up to 2.1ºC while it is playing, which "translates into an improvement in the frame rate of between 3 and 4 degrees", explains the company itself.

At the heart of this technology is a piezoelectric ceramic micropump, connected to ducts located between an upper and lower diaphragm.

It is through this electromagnetism that they get the coolant to circulate through the pipes.
