At the beginning of the month BMW officially announced that next year it will launch a new generation of the Mini Countryman, and that for the first time in the history of the British brand, it will be produced in Germany, at the BMW factory in Leipzig, alongside the X1 on which the next Countryman will be based.
But the truth is that Mini will have three launches next year, including one of another crossover.
The Iceman, which will be a production version of the concept car from 2022, will be positioned between the Countryman and the classic Mini, which will itself gain a new generation next year.
While the Countryman will grow by 12 cm to a length of 4.42 meters, and the new Mini will be shortened by 2 cm to 3.80 meters, a rare thing in the industry, the Iceman will extend to a length of 4.07 meters.
Unlike the Countryman, it will be electric only.
In fact the Iceman will be the size of the original Countryman.

BMW is preparing the area for the Countryman to become more expensive, which already costs NIS 275,000 in the plug-in version in Israel, more than the Tesla Model Y Long Range.
In Munich they understand that they must have a less expensive crossover, which will bring new audiences to the brand.
The Iceman will compete in Europe with electric crossovers such as the Renault Megane E, the electric Jeep Avenger and the electric version of the Ford Puma.
In Israel mini models suffer from significantly higher pricing compared to Europe, I wonder if Delek Motors will take advantage of the opportunity to give the discounted crossover a truly competitive price that will make it more accessible to new customers to the brand.
