Israeli Film Day is back, and will be held in about two weeks - this is what the Ministry of Culture and Sports announced today (Monday).
This, after the festive event was canceled last year.
As part of Israeli Cinema Day, every year a selection of films from Haaretz are screened, some of which have not yet been distributed commercially - at a price of only ten shekels per ticket.
Every year the day is dedicated to an iconic figure in the history of the local screen, and this year it will be the actor Haim Topol ("Saleh Shabti"), who passed away last week.
In total, 39 films will be shown this year as part of the Israeli Film Day.
What are spoken word films that have already been released such as "Good Guys", "Karaoke", "Virgins", "Where's Anne Frank?"
And more, as well as 14 films in the premiere: "Valeria Gets Married", "Nobody's Children", "Grains of Sand", "The Road to Eilat", "Relocation", "The Flower Gate", "Heal Longing", "The Swimmer",
Minister of Culture and Sports Miki Zohar welcomed the renewed event.
"During the 75 years of the country's existence, the Israeli film industry has grown and is flourishing and thriving and winning awards at the most important film festivals in the world. I call on the general public all over the country, in the periphery and in Judea and Samaria, to go to the cinema and enjoy an Israeli, high-quality and original work at a price equal to every pocket," he said. .
