Tell me where you live and I'll tell you how to drive.

Anyone who lives in the Unterallgäu is obviously one of the worst drivers in Germany.

Let's be honest: everyone assumes that he or she is good at driving.

It's always the others' fault.

"He won his driver's license in the lottery," is probably the mildest judgment about other road users.

Sometimes the location code on the license plate is enough for a quick assessment of his driving skills.

The question arises: Where do Germany's worst drivers actually come from?

An answer to this is provided by the

driver rating.de

portal .

Here drivers can rate other road users as positive, neutral or negative.

All you need is the license plate (on which not every combination of letters and numbers is legal).

The website uses the data to rank the 738 cities and districts with the best and worst drivers.

Rating of driving skills: Germany's worst drivers come from the Allgäu

Drivers from the city of Mindelheim in the Lower Allgäu did the worst, with an average score of 5.2.

Close behind are Kiel, Ludwigshafen, Duisburg and Braunschweig, each with a 4.6.

Frankenthal, Ebermannstadt, Goslar and Wertingen also did poorly.

If you go by the counties, there are several regions that you should avoid.

With a 5.0, the Unterallgäu is also at the top here.

They are followed by the Vulkaneifel, Goslar, Wiesbaden, Heilbronn and the Hohenlohe district with a 4.3.

Numerous other districts fared similarly poorly, as shown by a graphic on

driver assessment.de

.

Incidentally, according to the portal, models from Audi, Porsche and Škoda are particularly often noticed by an inappropriate driving style.

Rating of driving skills: Wittlage has the best drivers in Germany

Now that the question of the worst drivers has been clarified, the only question left is where do the best come from?

Certainly not from the capital Berlin.

A 4.4 is only enough for 708th place. The solution: Wittlage from the Osnabrück district (1.3).

M (2.1) with Bersenbrück (1.4) is also second in the region.

Alsfeld im Vogelbergkreis (2.0) came in third ahead of Hof/Münchberg and Tirschenreuth (2.2).

The district of Tirschenreuth did very well with a 1.6 and narrowly beat Weiden in der Oberpfalz.

You are also very safe in Bergenkasteö-Wittlich (2.5), Bochum, Börde, Magdeburg (2.6 each) and Kassel (2.8).

Despite having the two safest cities, the district of Osnabrück only gets a 3.3.

And the Vogelsberg district is only in the middle with a 3.5 overall.
