Director Keren Gochma, who directed many commercials and music videos - including the music video for Neta Barzilai's song Toy for the Eurovision Song Contest, refused to direct a music video for the Ministry of Information.
Chachma was asked if she would agree to direct a solidarity video with the women of Iran, and in response she responded that she is bothered by the freedom of Israeli citizens and that she would be happy to direct a video on this topic.
Chachma uploaded to her Facebook a WhatsApp correspondence with the Minister of Information's advisor Galit Distel Atbarian.
The consultant wrote to her that the office is interested in making a solidarity video in support of the Iranian people due to the suppression of the women's protest there.
"The minister was very impressed by the direction of TOY and would be very happy for your agreement and price offer. This is not political, this is the State of Israel that supports human rights and this is an important strategic step with positive indirect information for the State of Israel."
"Right now I'm more worried about freedom and human rights in Israel," Keren Hochma replied.
"I would be happy to make a video on this topic if you want."

The Ministry of Information stated: "The clip that the director refused was designed by the Israeli Ministry of Information for the Iranian women who are going through real and painful oppression. This is an important universal message and also of strategic importance to the country. I am sorry that the director (who is talented, it should be noted) chose local political criticism over helping women who are in real distress. On the other hand, she earned a few likes on Twitter, that's also something."
