The facelift of the BMW 5 Series to be presented in October will include a significant update to BMW's electric offering - the i5, the Munich-based manufacturer's competitor to cars such as the Mercedes EQE, Tesla Model S and Audi e tron GT.
It will fit between the compact i4 and the i7 luxury car.
Just as the manufacturer's gasoline models are arranged in its hierarchy.
The facelift of the model, the eighth generation of the dynasty that began in 1972, should, at least according to the company, be more dynamic and comfortable than the current generation and inside the passenger cabin you will receive the new BMW iDrive user interface.
The promise there is for a faster and more user-friendly interface, one that resembles the arrangement you know from mobile phones.

The company did not provide details regarding the drive systems of the electric 5 Series, but it can be assumed that these will overlap with the drive systems we have already met in BMW's i family, that is, the 35, 40 and M50 with capacities ranging from 280, 320 and 540 hp respectively. Referring to the possibility of a true M version of the car, the CEO of BMW said that: "The electric i4 M50 shows how BMW combines dynamic performance with electric drive to Perfection and this is our best-selling M model in 2022. A fully electric version from the M division will also be included in the 5 Series Sedan offering."

The car's exterior also remains under wraps, but spy photos circulating online hint at a more "calm" front than the i7 received.
In addition to the sedan configuration, the i5 will also offer an electric alternative to the station-saloon market which is very popular in Europe (more precisely, mainly in Europe), in this respect it will be the only player in this group of electric saloons with the possibility of this body.
In addition to the facelift for the 5 series on the various drive units (diesel, gasoline, light hybrid and plug-in), the renewed M5 will also be presented.
As mentioned, the car will be officially presented this coming October and will begin to be sold in early 2024, "Delek Motors", the BMW importer, said that the car is expected to arrive here in the first quarter of 2024.
