First too fast, then the wrong way around - and finally cut off in the patrol car: A VW driver kept the police on their toes for one night.
You always meet twice in life.
Sometimes even in the same night.
In this case: the police and the driver of a VW Golf.
The latter was noticed, firstly, at night on the A9 near Halle by a civil patrol at excessive speed (which is a bit reminiscent of the case with this speeder).
The officers checked the 29-year-old for drugs and alcohol.
After both tests were negative, they let the Pole continue.
Which later turned out to be a mistake.

Because about an hour later there was the second police contact, and it ended up being a bit embarrassing for the authorities.
After an emergency call, the highway police moved out and stopped the same Golf driver who was driving on the same highway near Leipzig.
But this time in the wrong direction.

The police report describes what happened then rather soberly: "The officers parked their VW Passat emergency vehicle with the blue lights on on the hard shoulder of the Berlin lane and went to the car and the driver." They then accompanied the wrong-way driver to the blue light Passat - and left back to secure the unlit gulf.
Then "the suspect suddenly got into the emergency vehicle and fled with the radio patrol car in the direction of Berlin".

Police stop wrong-way driver – and are looking for witnesses
One can imagine the subsequent radio traffic.
"Involved emergency services" put the police car and its lender on a country road shortly thereafter.
"Investigations into unauthorized use of a vehicle and suspected endangerment of road traffic" are now underway.
Witnesses are wanted.
