Speaking to the crowd that filled the Culture Hall in Tel Aviv, the music director of the Philharmonic, conductor Lahav Shani, said: "Our democracy is a miracle."

The music director of the Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor Lahav Shani, commented last night (Saturday) on the situation in Israel and the protest against the legal revolution.

In short words he said to the large crowd that filled the Culture Hall in Tel Aviv before the concert, he said: "I know you all came to hear a concert. We will immediately play all the music we prepared for you. All of us here on the stage hear the voices outside and we worry and are anxious for the future of our country."

After the audience interrupted Shani, applauded and parts of it even stood on their feet, Shani continued: "Our democracy is a miracle and the cultural life we have built here in the last decades is a miracle and we must not under any circumstances lose what we have built. I hope we find a solution and unification soon."

After that, the audience clapped again and the orchestra broke into playing the national anthem "Hope".

Last Thursday, hundreds of artists came to an emergency rally of the Israeli culture and art world in solidarity with the protest against the legal revolution.

The actress Gila Almagor said in her speech: "We are calling here loudly: Stop the harsh legislation, which is tearing Israeli society apart. Sit down, speak up, use your good thinking. After all, you have become members of the Knesset, ministers, this is a tremendous achievement, take advantage of the common sense that has given God, the education you received. Why are you wasting it on evil?! Draconian laws, one and one and one and one more. Shame and shame!".
