- This document shows us to what extent, if we continue with current trends, we cannot ensure that we have a livable and sustainable world.

Three points are important.

First of all, urgency: what we put in place now will make a difference and will have an impact on the losses and damages that we will avoid, on our daily lives, on the irreversible consequences in the longer term, such as the rise in sea level. This text also highlights the seriousness of the situation, in particular for the most vulnerable, with commitments that do not put us at all on a trajectory allowing us to limit global warming to + 1.5°C and make it very difficult to achieve the +2°C target.

The third point is the ability to act: we know what works, and public policies have already made it possible to avoid...
