Eurovision 2023: Noa Kirel is officially announced as Israel's representative (Walla system!)
One of our favorite phenomena, which is gaining more and more momentum every year, are the rickshaw videos for Eurovision on YouTube.
These are videos where Eurovision fans watch the songs of the different countries and record their reactions.
In many cases we use them in our articles here to try and understand what our chances are of reaching the top of the scoring table in the Eurovision final.
Judging by the reaction of Lavadom from Valencia, Spain, Noa Kirel is going to crush all her competitors.
Throughout the video, which has so far garnered more than 26,000 views, the popular YouTuber dances, sings, stands up, and even sheds tears of excitement in one of the cutest videos we've seen.
"12 points for Israel and Noa Kirel. She is the best. This song makes no sense at all and I don't know what I'm saying at all, but this song could be number one in the world," he says with enviable excitement.
"She's the winner, remember what I'm saying now, friends, she's the winner. I'm really sorry for Spain, Whataver, Noa Kirel is the winner."
Towards the end of the video, he turns to Noa Kirel and tells her: "I love you, congratulations."
So far the reactions to Israel's song for Eurovision 2023 have been mixed.
"Without a doubt, it was the song with the most anticipation for any country in all 70 years of Eurovision," said Jack Lawson, who used to be a member of the team of Wiwibloggs website that deals with Eurovision 365 days a year, with a slight exaggeration.
"Maybe it wasn't what you expected, but remember your expectations were much higher compared to any other country. I think the song is really good, he mentioned, I found myself with a lot of parts stuck in my head after listening, but I wouldn't use Phenomenal to to describe the song. In terms of the lyrics, I'll say honestly - I'm disappointed," he said in a tweet that received thousands of views.
Other surfers wrote: "I just listened to the song and...well, it's well produced but feels like it's trying to be everything at once and doesn't succeed, lacks harmony and the ending is disappointing."
Surfer Teddy was also disappointed: "It will probably end up in a marginal place in the semi-finals and a low place in the final. The song starts promisingly but for some reason remains flat. It's like the whole song builds up to a wow moment, but we don't get to that point. This phenomenal part sounds like a different song from all the rest".
Another surfer asked a question that many of us have also asked: "Did I just listen to three or four different songs?".
