Italians are willing to invest in a more ecological vehicle but with a higher cost to contribute to environmental sustainability, especially the younger ones.

According to a survey carried out by the Piepoli Institute for the Union for the Defense of Consumers (Udicon), in fact, 65% of those interviewed would be willing to purchase a low-emission vehicle.

A percentage that increases (73%) if we consider the 18-34 age group, compared to 68% between 35-54 years and 57% from 55 years of age.

According to the survey, when they think of sustainable mobility, Italians pay more attention to the implementation of the public service (38%), to the increase in alternative means to cars such as bicycles and scooters (24%), to the transition from

traditional car to the electric one (23%) and finally to car sharing services (5%).

For almost half of the interviewees, being a sustainable consumer above all means reducing one's consumption (47%), boycotting the products of companies that do not respect the environment (15%), not buying disposable products (13%) but favoring biological (13%) or used ones (6%) and sharing services with others (7%).

An important share indicates made in Italy as a decisive element in their purchasing decisions (51%).

For the same price-quality, among the other factors that influence consumer choices are the impact of production on the environment (25%), the company's social commitment on environmental and sustainability projects (17%) and the composition of the packaging (7%).
