Yotam Gandelman, one of the creators and directors of the series "Shadow of Truth" (HOT8), is happy and excited about the decision to acquit Roman Zdorov of the murder of the girl Tair Rada.

"We are happy first and foremost for Roman, Olga and their children," he tells Walla!

culture.

"Then for Ilana Rada. And we are also happy for ourselves. We believe that justice has indeed been done. There is a huge doubt about Roman Kirsem's guilt, we are happy that he has reached the threshold of the court and that he is acquitted. "We want to point out that this shows the independence and strength of the judicial system, which

knows corrects herself, knows how to listen to disputes and knew how to open the case and made a long, complex and creative trial, with three excellent judges, who in the end came, each in their own opinion, as close to the truth as they could," Gendelman added. "We are proud that we had our small part in the work , and we are sure that the story is not over, because even if Roman is acquitted, in the end a little girl was murdered and there will come a day when the truth about what happened there will have to be known."

"I don't know. I think that in this trial, as well as in the request for the retrial, two suspects were presented. No one knows another suspect. You know, the world is big, we'll live and see, maybe we'll be surprised or maybe not. I have no idea, I'm not a prophet. I I think the only people who know who murdered Tair is the one who murdered her and Tair herself will no longer be able to answer that."

Do you think the judges were influenced by public opinion, which itself was influenced by your series?

"Naturally, judges who do their job faithfully need to receive their information critically not only from both sides that stand before them but also from investigators and reporters. This is an important part of their work as I understand it. No judge is on Mars or in a complete vacuum. I'm sure the media has a role. However, I am absolutely convinced that a judge, at least a good judge, and here we are talking about good judges, does not decide fates according to public opinion one way or another, even if he listened, heard or was convinced by things that appeared in the media."

There were a lot of claims that to a large extent you caused injustice to a struggling girl.

Do you feel you did an injustice to Ola Kravchenko by pointing an accusing finger at her in episode 4 of your series?

"I will direct you to the opinion of the majority in the court at the moment. In the opinion of the majority in the court, in the acquittal we heard today, they claim that the story of Ola Kravchenko and Adir Khabani has weight in the acquittal of Roman. I think it answers all the questions. I think we flooded an issue that was one of the reasons they brought To Roman's credit - it says preachy."
