The perfect climate to put the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe 20th Anniversary to the test, even better if in the desert area on the outskirts of Moab, Utah, where the celebratory version of the iconic 4x4 leads the way in the celebrations of the 57th edition of the Easter Jeep Safari scheduled in these places from 1 to 9 April.

ANSA, the only Italian newspaper, had the opportunity to submit this new Rubicon to an in-depth test drive: not a mere make-up operation, but a car with many innovations that make it unstoppable.

We set off along the state road 191 nestled between the red rock mountains, we were caught by a snowfall as thick as it was unexpected just as we rested the treads of the powerful 33-inch tires that are one of the characteristic elements of this car off the road.

An insidious scenario, which does not allow you to see exactly what is under the blanket.

Not bad for a car that can count on a stand raised up to 28.5 cm.

Under the bonnet pulsates a 380 HP plug-in hybrid power unit, with the electric unit entering the scene to offer greater thrust on the toughest dirt roads or, on the contrary, in moments of calm to allow totally silent off-road .

A few hours and many kilometers later, the rain came and swept away the snow that had taken root well, leaving a very insidious veil of water and sand on the large stone slabs, which was soon dried by rapid gusts of icy wind.

When the weather seems to be improving, our track puts us in front of a truly complex challenge that leads us to have to exploit an overhang that can make us stop continuing on the road.

A double stone step squeezed between two rock walls, to be descended without hesitation.

The suspensions, assisted by a sophisticated anti-lock system, do the hardest work together with the steering and allow you to arrive downhill untouched.

Looking back, it really is like stepping off the second floor of a building.

An iron fist in a velvet glove, this Rubicon, which sports two-tone red upholstery on board, as well as the red leather of the dashboard, reaches unprecedented levels.

A truly unique car, unfortunately dedicated only to the American market.
