The massive nose and wide sides of the New Austral, in its most dynamic version, are combined with high-tech details such as the LED headlights (which we tested in the Matrix Led version, as an option), as well as the 20" light alloy wheels. ", exclusive bumpers for this set-up and the glossy black finishes that underline all the sportiness of the Alpine logo on the wings. All this, for the right mix of elegance and dynamism.

The esprit Alpine equipment, which is present for the first time in the range, draws its exclusive style from the sporty DNA of the Alpine brand.

Its distinctive design further accentuates the attractiveness of New Austral also thanks to other details such as the rear lights with 3D moiré effect, upholstery in Alcantara fabric with blue stitching, nappa leather steering wheel, also with blue, white and red stitching.

The version we tested, both on urban roads and on the motorway and for some long distances, is the one with a 12V mild hybrid engine, which delivers 160 HP and is based on a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine with direct injection, in our case with automatic transmission and consumption starting from 6.2 l/100 km.

In terms of technology at the service of safe driving, even the sporty version of the Austral can count on over thirty assistance devices, divided into three categories: driving, parking and safety.

New Austral also inaugurated 4Control Advanced, the third generation of Renault's four-wheel steering system, improved over the course of fifteen years.

While the New Austral is available in seven body colors such as ice white, passion red, nacré white, etoilé black and iron blue and schist grey, the exclusive satin schist gray tint is only available in the esprit Alpine trim level.

New Austral in esprit Alpine setup, in mild hybrid configuration, has a starting price of 37,700 euros.

The same set-up, but in the 200 HP full hybrid version, has a list price of 41,200 euros.
