The modular concept of the drive makes it possible to vary the maximum overall engine power of the EQE SUV over a wide spectrum.
Pending the final certification, Mercedes-Benz predicts that the values will settle at levels similar to that of the EQE sedans.
Depending on the equipment and configuration, European cars are expected to have ranges, in the Wltp cycle, of a maximum of 590 kilometers (except for AMG models).
The EQE SUV's lithium-ion battery consists of ten modules.
Numerous driving assistance functions, including attentive assist, i.e. the active braking assistance system, the active anti-skid system, the parking package with assisted reversing camera and the automatic speed limit detection system.
Status and activity of the assistance systems are represented in a full-screen view in the driver display.
On the chassis front, the new EQE SUV features a four-link front axle and a multi-link rear axle.
Thanks to the relatively short wheelbase (3,030 mm) and the specific set-up calibration, the car is already particularly agile and easy to handle in the basic set-up.
The Airmatic air suspension with Ads+ adaptive damping control is available as an option.
To increase ground clearance, the vehicle level can also be raised by up to 30 millimeters.
In addition to the Dynamic Select Eco, Comfort, Sport and Idividual programs, the 4Matic versions of the EQE SUV also feature the Offroad program for off-road driving.
A steering rear axle with a steering angle of up to 10 degrees is also available as an option.
Lots of technology designed to facilitate electric driving in complete tranquility.
In particular, navigation with Electric Intelligence makes it possible to plan the fastest and most comfortable route based on numerous factors, including stops for recharging, and reacts dynamically to traffic jams or changes in driving style.
Navigation with Electric Intelligence also calculates the expected costs at each stop for recharging.
Furthermore, the customer has the option of personally modifying the planned route, for example by adding the charging stations he prefers or excluding others that are automatically suggested.
Production of the EQE SUV began in December 2022 in the United States at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
The battery factory in nearby Bibb County supplies batteries for both this model and the EQS SUV.
As of this year, all Mercedes-Benz passenger car and commercial vehicle plants worldwide produce CO2-neutrally, including the two Mercedes-Benz plants in Alabama.
