The Fair Prices plan reached motorcycles: which are the models that will have their values ​​frozen for three months

The official initiative, which

covers products from Betamotor, Corven, Dragon, FAMSA, Gilera, Honda, Importadora Mediterránea, Motomel, Mar Maquinarias, Okinoi, Pagoda, Yamaha and Zanella.

In this way, the Government sought to guarantee a new item within the program that is part of

its plan to mitigate inflation

and that aims to regulate increases in certain items in 15 sectors: Mass Consumption, Clothing, Footwear, Home, Construction, Cell Phones , Small household appliances, Education, School basket, Industrial supplies, Textiles, Bicycles, Medicines, Catalog sales and, now also, Motorcycles.

The range that makes up the Fair Prices offer

ranges from 70 cc to 150 cc

(although most belong to the most popular segment of all in the country, the 110 cc), with room for typically urban motorcycles, scooters and some models that fall into the enduro category.

, present on the list of Fair Prices with two versions, is the leading motorcycle on the market -although it was not the most sold in March-.

Motorcycle sales grew in March

The third month of the year closed with rising motorcycle sales:

a total of 48,044 patents were registered

, as confirmed by the Chamber of Motorcycle Manufacturers (Cafam) and the Association of Automotive Dealers of the Argentine Republic (Acara).

The figure represents an interannual increase of 13.5% –in March 2022 42,341 units had been sold– and 35% if it is compared with what happened in February –35,584 units–.

This rebound is also reflected in the balance of the first quarter of this 2023: between January and March, 124,791 motorcycles were patented, 13.4% more than the 110,060 in the same period but the previous year.

As has been the case since 2016, a majority of this push also comes from the national industry: according to Cafam, 94% of the 0km motorcycles sold in March left factories located in the country.

Honda led sales in March

, with 9,547 units, although it was Corven (second on the list by brand, with 7,004 sales) that took first place among the manufacturers of the most popular models: the Energy 110 By Corven totaled 5,010 patents. , well above the 4,202 of the Honda Wave, which nevertheless continues to be the most chosen of the year –13,098–.

This rise of the Corven model confirms a trend that was already glimpsed in February, when it displaced the Motomel B110 from second place.

A model that also continued its decline and in March was fourth, with 3,756 sales, now relegated by the Gilera Smash, which completed the podium with 4,091 patented units.
