Two years ago, Tesla dominated the car market in Israel with a launch price of NIS 179,000.
It is now getting close to there, while competitors' prices have soared since then.
Tonight, Tesla Israel reduced the price of the basic Model 3 by NIS 15,000 (7.5%), to NIS 189,700.
The price of the Model 3 Long Range was reduced by NIS 13,000 to NIS 239,000, and the performance model by NIS 37,000 to NIS 252,000.
The discount is part of a global price reduction move by the American streetcar manufacturer, which is currently not utilizing all of its production capacity.
At its peak, after the tax increase in January, the basic 3rd country cost NIS 242,000.
Since then it has been discounted within 3 months by NIS 53,000, or 21% cumulatively.
The discount brings the 3 to the prices of gasoline and hybrid executive cars, such as the Mazda 6, Hyundai Sonata and Skoda Superb.
However, it damages the value of the cars that are already driving in the country, especially those that have hit the roads in the last year.
Tesla owners have already received quite a blow to the value of their cars in the latest round of discounts, which also shook quite a few speculators who were looking to make a "hit" on the coveted electric car.
