Even recently, a study conducted among 34,000 French people showed that nearly half of them consider obesity to be a “lack of willpower”.
However, the more time passes, the more the complexity of this disease, metabolic and multifactorial, is revealed and renders this cliché obsolete.
Thus, alongside known factors such as physical inactivity and dietary imbalance, the consequences on weight gain of exposure to "eternal pollutants" emerge quite clearly from the work carried out by the team of Philippe Grandjean, researcher in environmental medicine at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense.
