This is what induction day looks like in an organization that is leading the banking revolution in Israel - voila! technology

Besides the joining gifts that we have become accustomed to in high-tech, there is also a spiritual value: what do the new employees in the technology division of Bank Hapoalim get?

I want to share with you a special experience I had, as a new employee at the bank.

I started working in the technology division about two months ago as an implementer in the identity management team in the information security and cyber department and not long ago I participated in the orientation day for the new employees.

This is a great project that aims to reveal to those joining the division the business goals, the work environment, the corporate culture and most importantly, the people.

An organization that touches millions of people

We started the day with a cool meal that boosted the atmosphere, because every good story begins in a place with good food and good people.

Then the lectures began, which were delivered in a light manner (after all, we were after a hamburger).

At the heart of the lectures were the interesting contents that are already running in the division, everything that "lives and breathes" and everything that is aspirational and close to realization.

The main idea was: "The intelligence is not only with us, through you we will also understand how we can do it better going forward".

Everyone who came on stage brought their "I believe", and it was interesting to see how brilliant ideas and useful solutions were produced for a variety of projects that fulfill the bank's strategy.

I realized that working in technology is not for people who are looking to throw down the pen at 4:00 PM and run to the bus, but more for people who are looking to fly in a spaceship and dive into the depths of imagination and creativity to create the next venture.

The director of the division, Etti Ben Ze'ev, who is without a doubt a role model, made sure to curiously draw the eyes of the spectators after her and to inspire with her words.

She presented the beauty of the division from her point of view, the great scope of resources in the division, and the main goal, which is to create caring banking at a fast pace that touches millions of people every day.

She introduced us to the new corporate DNA in an immersive way, and the silence that reigned in the hall during her lecture spoke for itself.

We are encouraged to grow

in the future, we got to know the learning platforms of the division, with the help of which the employees are encouraged to grow and grow within the organization.

They showed us that technology is a place that makes learning accessible and encourages, and can turn a business agent into a systems analyst, and use the advantage of knowledge from the business world to leverage and integrate all worlds.

Thus, not only the employer benefits, but also the employee feels satisfied as a result of his "growth leap" in the organization.

The bank understands and knows that human capital is more important than any other resource.

The various topics that came up in the lectures brought us to know the organizational culture of the technologist - which emphasizes connections between people.

The employees of the division, as diverse as their personal lives may be, cooperate professionally, remove partitions and hierarchies, shorten circles and strive for entrepreneurship and self-expression, without fear of breaking glass ceilings and breaking through locked doors along the way.

After that, we split into groups, and went on tours of the departments where we don't work.

My group visited "Bit" and the monitoring, control and operation department and the other group visited information security and digital platforms.

I was very impressed by the key people and their various fields of activity.

They bring the most impressive results!

It was hard to hide the fact that a lot of thought was put into every step of this day.

The people of the 'People and Culture' department naturally did not lower their smile, and devotedly made sure to pass this day with good energy.

They carefully chose important "vertices" to deliver the lectures to us, and contributed a lot to our enrichment.

They also made sure to add a lot of interest in the various tours between the departments.

Redefining banking

In conclusion, I was very impressed by the orientation day I spent at Bank Hapoalim.

The organization relies on knowledge, systems and innovative tools at the forefront of today's technology.

The bank has been leading the Israeli economy and the banking sector for 100 years and there is no doubt that it is leading long-term broad processes that require courage, learning and innovation.

Had it not been for this orientation day, I would not have come to the conclusion so quickly that I am a screw in the toolbox called the technological division, which leads and redefines the concept of "bank", and is today more than ever, in the midst of a revolution that affects the entire country.

All the participants on the orientation day were enthusiastic, and experienced this day as a real fun day.

I was privileged to take part in this important and refreshing day - and for that I, on behalf of all the participants, thank everyone who made it happen.
