Three days ago, the Citroen C4X was launched in Israel, the sedan configuration of the C4 with which the importer hopes to enter the family sedan category from which it has been absent for many years.

The car was launched in Israel with a range of gasoline, diesel and electric engines. But right now the manufacturer is announcing that it is releasing another version of the electric C4X that takes care of the car's weak point - power and range.

As you remember, the electric C4X is marketed with a 136 hp and 26.5 kgm engine, which brings the car to 100 km/h in 10 seconds and up to a maximum speed of 150 km/h.

The battery in the car is 50 kWh and has a declared driving range of 358 km.

This is generally the generic drive unit in the Stelantis group - the parent company of Citroen and appears throughout the range of Peugeot and Opel brands for example.

Now the manufacturer has announced that after debuting in the redesigned DS3, the more advanced generation of its electric drive system is also on its way to the C4X.

The engine that switches to synchronous electric drive instead of a permanent magnet structure results in an increase in power to 156 hp, without a change in the torque figure. Use of a larger 54 kWh battery.

The meaning of the battery and the more advanced engine is a 17% increase in the driving range, which will now stand at a declared 420 km. The battery composition, which is also different in terms of materials, also guarantees an improved lifespan, according to the manufacturer. Despite the larger battery, there is no change in the charging times of the car

. The importer, the electric C4 with the new engine and battery is expected to arrive in Israel in the middle of 2024. Currently there is no forecast for the model's prices, but currently the price of the electric C4X is 185 thousand shekels, if there is no change in pricing, we can expect an increase in the model's prices.
